Wonga Beach is one of tropical north Queensland's best kept secrets. At the entrance to the Daintree Valley Wonga is overlooked by the mid-morning tourist invasion of the Daintree rainforest.
Stretching from Rocky Point, at the southern access of Captain Cook Highway, to the Daintree River in the north Wonga Beach is easily accessible and has the best beach walk in the district.
Not only is our area clean and green but we have the purest water in Australia. The air is clean, coming in from the Tasman Sea in the form of S-E trade winds during the main holiday season.
Every house in Wonga is close to the beach with most holiday accommodation right on it. A holiday here is inexpensive and enjoyable if you like to be away from the mass tourism centres of Port Douglas and Cairns.
Wonga has it's own attractions and is also handy to the rest of Daintree, Mossman and Port Douglas.
101 things to do in Daintree has a big feature on Wonga Beach.
Mobile Telephone coverage & Broadband.
Unlike other parts of Daintree, Wonga Beach has both mobile telephone coverage
(Telstra & Optus) and Broadband. Public access to Broadband is at Pinnacle Village Holiday Park.
There
have been some more streets added since the map was
printed and the Daintree Palms has been demolished.
