When you go to the link above there is a drop down box with the Queensland ports arranged in geographical order and not alphabetical order. Cairns and Port Douglas are about midway. Pick either one and use the formula below:

Add 3 hours to Cairns times for Daintree Village Tide Times.
(
as with all tide predictions weather can influence the actual event. Imagine what the Daintree River, see below, can be like in the wet season?)
Add 1 hour to Cairns times for the Daintree River ferry tide time.
2005 rainfall chart for Daintree Wonga Beach.
2006 rainfall chart for Daintree Wonga Beach.
2007 rainfall chart for Daintree Wonga Beach.

The CREB track is:   CLOSED   OPEN from Mon18 Aug 2008 but will close again when the Wet Season starts.

Cairns Post photo of the ferry crossing during the March 1996 flood. The ferry is the rectangular object at the bottom. The gentleman fishing in the other photo is wearing an "Outernet" which provides protection from biting insects, particularly the almost invisible SANDFLIES  which are found near the saltwater parts of the coast. Sandflies are not noticed until after they leave your body and you feel the itch, which you scratch and scratch and scratch. E-mail Chris for details and how to get an "Outernet".
